Hello everyone,
As I am writing this my 13 year old daughter, who has autism, is laying in the bed next to me after 6 hours in the operating room.  We are at Boston's Mass Eye and Ear.  This was her second procedure.  The right ear was operated on 6 weeks ago and today was the left.  The right ear procedure went well but there were problems today.  The ear drum was collapsed and there was c-toma wrapped around the stapes.
I am glad to find this community.  I had never heard of this condition until a couple of months ago.  I am scared about my daughters future.  She has enough trouble in life with the autism, she deserves a break.  I am looking forward to meeting all of you and learning your stories/experiences.
